Perspective: Fact or Fiction
Alexander Crossman, Beyond the System Writing Contest
I am lost, wandering endlessly,
Without a home, without anchor,
Believing deeply and painfully,
That I do not deserve love.
Forever caught in loneliness,
My scars etched, everlasting,
Healing seems impossible,
I am destined to remain broken,
And I reject the thought that
There is a place for me,
A whisper of hope to embrace,
Warmth and belonging waiting patiently,
Kindness capable of rewriting fate,
My history shaping but not binding me,
For I know in truth and certainty,
I am worthy of genuine care.
Never again will I say,
I am lost, wandering endlessly.
