Dream Makers Luncheon 2026

On March 5, 2026, we gathered with Pivotal supporters, community partners, scholars, alumni, and staff at the Los Altos Golf & Community Club for our annual Dream Makers Appreciation Luncheon.  

The Dream Makers Circle brings together generous donors who are deeply committed to helping foster youth achieve their educational and career goals. By giving $5,000 or more each year, Dream Makers provide life-changing support for every young person Pivotal serves.  

The celebration provides an opportunity for donors and scholars to connect directly and hear firsthand how their support is making a difference. One of the most memorable moments of the afternoon came when Pivotal scholar Briana took the stage with her two-month-old son nestled to her  as she shared her story. 

Briana’s Story

Briana shared what it was like growing up in the foster care system, moving frequently and experiencing instability from a young age. Determined to keep moving forward, Briana enrolled in community college, worked to support herself, and eventually became one of the founding youth leaders of The Hub, Santa Clara County’s first youth-led resource center for foster youth.  A turning point in Briana’s journey came when she connected with Pivotal’s coaching program. Her coach, Sarah, became a steady presence during difficult moments, offering encouragement and support as Briana worked toward her goals.  Watch Briana’s full speech below to hear her powerful story in her own words.

A Handmade Thank You 

As a token of appreciation, Dream Makers guests received a special candle handmade by Pivotal scholars. The candle carried a message that reflects the spirit of the Dream Makers community: “Hope shines brighter because of you.” 

Inside the candle were forget-me-not flowers, symbols of remembrance and care, and the scent of Lily of the Valley, representing renewal and quiet strength. Together, they symbolize the hope and resilience of the young people in our community.
