On May 17, we came together for our end-of-year celebration honoring Pivotal graduating scholars and the hard work and achievements of all our scholars this year. Hosted at Topgolf, Fore! Foster Youth brought together Pivotal scholars, alumni, coaches, supporters, sponsors, and community members to celebrate the accomplishments of young people in and from foster care this National Foster Care Month. 

More than 200 attendees joined us to acknowledge 97 scholars reaching major educational milestones. Among those celebrated were 49 high school graduates, 29 post-secondary graduates, 17 transfer scholars, and 2 students promoting from middle school to high school. 

We’re grateful to the Topgolf team who created a fun and welcoming environment where everyone, regardless of golf experience, could come together in support of Pivotal scholars. Guests enjoyed friendly competition at the golf bays, shared food and conversation, participated in scholar raffles, and connected with fellow members of the Pivotal community. The energy throughout the event reflected the joy and pride surrounding our scholars and their accomplishments.

Pivotal CEO Matt Bell welcomed attendees and recognized the generous sponsors and community partners who helped bring the event to life. High School and Post-Secondary Coach Supervisors, Dazzy Maldonado and Adam Ramirez also spoke, reflecting on the growth and resilience represented throughout the room. 

One particularly meaningful moment was the coaching reflection segment, where coaches shared words that they hoped scholars would carry into the next chapter of their journeys, including resilience, honesty, courage, and perseverance. The segment highlighted the deep relationships at the heart of Pivotal’s coaching model and the care coaches have for the young people they support.

Young people who have experienced foster care must often navigate major milestones without consistent recognition or encouragement, making moments of celebration and belonging especially meaningful. Fore! Foster Youth created a space for intentional celebration and community connection.
