About Lupe

Lupe Diaz was 13 years old when she entered the foster care system. Despite attending 13 different schools over the course of her academic journey, she graduated high school. Having aged out of foster care and with limited resources, Lupe found herself broke, homeless, and living in her car. When she came to Pivotal, she was in dire need of a fresh start and a Pivotal scholarship enabled her to get just that. Today, Lupe is a graduate of San Francisco State University, working in high tech and serves on the Pivotal board of directors, helping us ensure that we listen and learn from the students we serve and making sure that their voices are heard.

Join us to hear more about Lupe’s extraordinary journey and how she gives back to continue to help her foster brothers and sisters get access to the opportunities she was once given.
