FYM Collage

This year, Pivotal partnered with California Youth Connection to bring the Foster Youth Museum to Santa Clara University’s Sobrato Campus for Discovery and Innovation. Created in 2006 by current and former foster youth, the Foster Youth Museum uses artifacts, art, photography, and digital media donated or created by foster youth to provide an intimate look into their experiences.

This is the first time the exhibit has been publicly displayed since the COVID-19 pandemic. Pivotal has also worked with local artist, Jorge “J. Duh” Camacho, to create the Cover to Cover exhibit – four pieces of art representing the stories of four Pivotal scholars. The exhibit is open to the public through May 12th.

“We are thrilled to host this important collection at the new Sobrato Campus for Discovery and Innovation,” says Lisa Sobrato Sonsini, founding Board Chair of the Sobrato Family Foundation and Pivotal Board Member. “Art has a way of connecting people to ideas and becoming a catalyst for action.”
